Amethyst is a soothing stone, thought to guard against insomnia and nightmares. It can enhance spiritual wisdom and our connection to spirituality and spiritual insight and is, therefore, a great stone to keep on hand during meditation or other holistic practices.
A protective stone, Amethyst can also help with addiction and breaking obsessive or unhealthy habits - Amethystos - meant "not to be intoxicated" in Ancient Greek.
